Air Force Plane Crashes in Oklahoma City
This Thursday afternoon, a United States Air Force plane crashed into a field in southeast Oklahoma City. No injuries have been reported. The plane took off from Will Rogers Air National Guard Base in Oklahoma City. The two passengers, a civilian contractor and an Air Force member, were on a training mission.
The plane hit two power poles, which ignited a grass fire. The fire was put out shortly after it started by the Oklahoma City Fire Department.
There has been no information released regarding the cause of the crash. Authorities are still investigating the incident. The location of the crash is located near SE 119th and S. Sooner.
The plane that crashed was a OA-1K Skyraider II. The plane had just recently entered use within the Air Force. This would be the first publicly known crash involving a Skyraider II.
