The 2025 Guthrie Homecoming Parade

A beautiful day at the parade, on a friday. People gathered around to watch as the floats went by. The crowd was filled with kids waiting for people to throw candy so they could fill their bags. This year people stared at the Finding Nemo float as it went by.

The parade had the marching band making beautiful music for people to listen to. People cheered and recorded as they played. The Finding Nemo caught people's attention. It was designed to look like it was underwater, as the people on the float were dressed as the characters from the beloved animated movie. Coral and water like designs were on it as soft, ocean-like sounds played from it.

Kids cheered as they saw one of their favorite animated movies and characters in the parade. They were so excited for the characters to acknowledge them and toss them some candy.  “We had so much fun being able to make this float," said Antonio. “It was worth seeing them smile and cheer, knowing how much we worked together on the float.”

The crowd, which numbered hundreds of people, was filled with families, friends, and outside visitors who smiled and waved at the characters. The children stood on the tip toes to get a better look at the characters and the float. Some even mimicked the swimming motions of a fish.

As the parade went on. Local performers danced and waved. Community groups in  bright and colorful costumes and atmosphere went all around. The smell of food trucks around. Popcorn filled the air.

The parade ended but everybody was so excited. They couldn’t wait for the next years parade. The one float that they talked about was the Finding Nemo float. The parade was proved to fun and exciting for each year and for everyone.
