A statement from Dr. Mike Simpson the superintendent of Guthrie public schools:
“Obviously, we are incredibly thankful to not have any injuries. I’ve been in contact with Coach Nathan Pennypacker and appreciate his leadership along with the rest of our staff to take care of our students.”
According to Sheyanne Cossey, one of the trainers on the team, “We were on the way to Weatherford and it was like we just hit a brick wall out of nowhere. A couple cars in front of us slammed their brakes and the car behind them rear ended them. Then they got hit by a semi truck and the bus hit the semi truck. It was crazy, there were like two wrecks behind our wreck aswell.”
The Oklahoma highway patrol is currently investigating it for any foul play in the incident. The investigation is still ongoing for the moment.
