Guthrie v. Carl Albert Week 9

This last Friday the Guthrie Bluejays faced off against the Carl Albert Titans in an intense nail biter of a game. The final score came to 47-42 with Carl Albert taking the win with a big game play in the final minutes of the game. 

The game started with Guthrie's opening play putting them at the three yard line from a big run by Daelon Rice #14 Jr Qb then with him running it in for the touchdown. Guthrie then kicked a sky kick with Carl Albert having a miscommunication with Guthrie picking the ball up and getting a touchdown. The Guthrie Bluejays went back and forth with the Carl Albert Titan right until halftime with the score being 28-28. 

The crowd was enjoying this game more than ever and the student sections were having a great time. Unfortunately the Guthrie offense was getting plagued by holding calls and pass interference. That didn’t stop Guthrie from keeping up with the Titans until the titans got a big fourth down stop at the 12 yard line with the Guthrie offense having a miscommunication with multiple plays going at once. Still the game came to the final seconds with Guthrie on the Titans 6 yard line. The Titans were able to get the stop securing their victory for the night with the score being 47-42. 

This Friday the Guthrie Bluejays are playing the Lawton Wolverines at Lawton At 7:00pm, the Carl Albert Titans are playing the Altus Bulldogs at Altus also at 7:00pm.
